Suniel Shetty, former Hindi movie actor is in support of MS Dhoni for the upcoming T20 World Cup. In a video released by former cricketer Akash Chopra, Shetty spoke elaborately about what he feels the team should look like in the ICC tournament.
“Dhoni will play”
Suniel Shetty, the 58-year-old actor is one of the respected ones in the country’s movie industry is also an avid follower of cricket. In fact, he leads Mumbai Heroes cricket team in the Celebrity Cricket League. No wonder he follows India’s game thoroughly and just like any other fan has an opinion about the game and team. In a video by Akash Chopra, Shetty joined him in a quick segment where he went ahead to name his playing XI for the men’s World Cup scheduled to be held in October this year.
While speaking about the keeping slot, Shetty clearly backed Dhoni and said that Dhoni must be making himself fitter to make a stronger comeback. “Between Pant and Samson, I see MS Dhoni and only MS Dhoni for the World Cup. I feel he is getting fit out there and he will be back in a very very big way. Players from across the world feel that if Dhoni is there, it’s a strong team. Dhoni will play, he will score in the IPL.”

Suniel Shetty chose Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul as the openers of Virat Kohli’s team. The number three spot has been sealed by the skipper followed by Shreyas Iyer at No. 4. Shetty. Shetty gave his full support to Dhoni for the keeper’s role in the squad and also opined that Sanju Samson should be given more chances at the international level. Shetty shared his opinion on Rishabh Pant’s fitness too.
“Pant and Samson are very talented. Samson hasn’t got his chances. Pant is supremely talented but he needs to lose 4-5 kg of weight. It’s a positive thing I mean to say, but as far as wellness and fitness goes, there’s a difference in movement.”
