Travis Head Reflects on Thrilling Victory and Personal Milestones

Another day, another blockbuster match, or probably one of the best matches of IPL 2024 happened between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Lucknow Super Kings. Fans are awaiting a thrilling fighting match, but SRH’s players made it a total one-sided match. They made records in every way possible, today they also made a record while chasing the total that LSG put on the board. Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma didn’t give a percent chance to Lucknow bowlers to understand and settle on the pitch and made them clueless throughout the match.

Travis Head’s Bomblasting Innings:

When Lucknow came to bat, they struggled a lot to put up runs on board and they also lost wickets very quickly. It was Nicholas Pooran and Ayush Badoni who put in 165 fighting runs in front of Sunrisers Hyderabad. But it was the SRH player’s excellence to made it look like it was nothing for them. The way Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma played, it seemed like nothing was challenging them. Especially the way Travis Head played, he completely outplayed every LSG bower.

Travis Head showcases a scintillating display of power-hitting, remaining unbeaten on 89 runs off just 30 deliveries. His explosive innings include an impressive tally of 8 boundaries and an equal number of sixes, at a striking rate of 296.67. Head’s performance epitomizes aggressive batting, with each stroke demonstrating precision and raw power. His ability to accelerate the innings with consistent boundaries and towering sixes reflects his dominance at the crease, captivating spectators with an enthralling display of batting prowess.

Travis Head, The Perfect POTM Winner:

Following his sensational innings against Lucknow Super Giants, Travis Head emerged as the standout performer, clinching the coveted Player of the Match award. Head’s electrifying display of power-hitting, comprising 89 runs off just 30 deliveries, earned him accolades and admiration, solidifying his impact in the thrilling encounter.

After receiving the POTM award, Travis Head expressed, “ Lot of fun today. Nice to get this done in 10 overs. Abhi and I have had a few partnerships like this. Just concentrate on getting in good positions, watch the ball hard and try to maximise the powerplay. (On his spin hitting) It is something I have been working on, it will be a big part in the Caribbean as well. It is important to go 360 in the modern game. (On fearless cricket) The last 12 months, that’s how they wanted me to play in the Aussie team, and that’s what I’ve been told to do here as well.”

He added, “ Nothing much that I have to change. (On Abhishek Sharma) I know how hard he works and how deep he thinks, his spin play is second to none. We compliment each other very well. Nice to see him back amongst the runs after missing out the last couple of game. (On NRR) We didn’t think about it till the Timeout, but after that the boys came out and told us to score quickly. The crowd was exceptional tonight, that’s what we needed after losing the last two. I haven’t got many things over him, so that’s good to know that I have more runs than David Warner did in his first SRH season. We start again whenever we come out here for the next game.”
