Indian Premier League 2024 Orange Cap: Updated After DC vs MI and LSG vs RR Match No. 43 and 44

Saturday set the craze of the IPL 2024 because of two ultimate blockbusters. Fans experienced two exceptional matches. In the first half of the match, Delhi Capitals faced Mumbai Indians at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. Lucknow Super Giants faced Rajasthan Royal in the second match at the Ekana Stadium. In both matches, cricket enthusiasts witnessed some exceptional batting performances which brought some changes in the Orange Cap table.

Delhi Capitals Batting Masterclass and Mumbai Indians’ Struggle:

On the 43rd match of the tournament, Delhi Capitals faced Mumbai Indians at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. As both teams struggled in the initial stage of the tournament, they are now trying to bounce back. While batting first, Delhi Capitals gave an amazing start. Jake Fraser-McGurk played an incredible knock of 84 runs in 27 balls. Abhishek Porel scored 36 runs in 27 balls. Sai Hope added 41 runs after playing 17 balls. Rishabh Pant played a knock of 29 runs in 19 balls. Tristan Stubbs remained unbeaten on 48 runs. 

In pursuit of a formidable target of 258, Mumbai Indians faced a challenging start. Captain Rohit Sharma contributed 8 runs off 8 balls, while Ishan Kishan added 20 runs from 14 deliveries. Hardik Pandya’s impactful knock of 46 runs off 24 balls provided momentum. Tilak Verma anchored the innings with a half-century, scoring 63 runs in just 32 balls. Tim David contributed 37 runs off 17 balls. Despite their valiant effort, Mumbai Indians fell short by 10 runs in the end.

Lucknow’s Outstanding Batting but Rajasthan’s Dominance:

The second match of the day saw a clash between Lucknow Super Giants and Rajasthan Royals at the Ekana Stadium. While batting first, LSG faced a setback as Quinton de Kock walked away after scoring 8 runs. Immediately after that, Marcus Stoinis was dismissed on a duck. But KL Rahul and Deepak Hooda made an impactful partnership. Deepak Hooda scored an excellent half-century. But KL Rahul’s knock was excellent. He played a knock of 76 runs in 48 balls. Ayush Badoni and Krunal Pandya were unbeaten on 18 and 15 runs in 20 overs, they scored 196/5. 

The target was not that hard to chase for the Rajasthan Royals. While batting in the second innings, they gave a decent start, Yashasvi Jaiswal and buttler added 60 runs in the opening partnership. Jaiswal scored 24 runs in 18 balls and Buttler scored 34 runs in 18 balls. But Sanju Samson and Dhruv Jurel changed the flow of the gave. Sanju Played an unbeaten knock of 71 runs and Dhruv Jurel was unbeaten on 52 runs in 34 balls. With that domination, they defeated Lucknow Super Giants by 7 wickets.
