Today marks the conclusion of the 59th match of the TATA IPL 2024 season. The match was held at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad between host team Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings.
Chennai Super Kings won the toss and opted to Bowl, hence giving GT a go ahead to bat in the first innings. Shubman Gill-led GT ended up scoring 231/3 in 20 overs while CSK lost the match at 196/8.
Currently, CSK is placed at the 4th spot on the points table, while GT is at the 8th spot with 12 and 10 points respectively.
Fan enters the match at Ahmedabad
It was during the batting innings of CSK, when a fan entered the playing field, running towards the Mahendra Singh Dhoni, the star wicketkeeper-batsman and ex-captain of CSK.
Dhoni fans are known to be passionate at the very least. It’s common knowledge that the crowd goes crazy when Dhoni comes to bat. The instance of a fan entering a match to meet him isn’t a first timer.
The spectator was seen invading the field and falling at the feet of Dhoni. A bit of a delay occurred as security takes the person away. This was during the 19th over of CSK batting.
Gill-Sudarshan become century partners
In today’s match both the opening batsmen for GT showed everyone what they were made for. Shubman Gill and Sai Sudarshan both ended up scoring centuries with Gill scoring 104 while Sudarshan got 103 runs under his belt.
Additionally, Sai Sudarshan also became the fastest Indian player to score a 1000 runs in the IPL, at 25 innings, hence surpassing Sachin Tendulkar and Ruturaj Gaikwad who had both achieved the feat at 31 innings each.
