WPL 2023: Who is the X-factor in RCB team?

Beginning on March 4th, a Saturday, the much awaited Women’s IPL will take place in Mumbai. For the title of WPL champion in its debut season, 5 clubs will face off against one another. The event has generated a lot of buzz and excitement and is frequently referred to be a “game changer” by many analysts. The competition will significantly advance and advance women’s cricket. Gujarat, Mumbai, Bangalore, Delhi, and UP are the five participating teams in the competition.

RCB squad has got many superstars in it. But they need their star overseas player Ellyse Perry to step up big time to give them balance. Royal Challengers Bangalore all rounder Ellyse Perry needs no introduction. The evergreen Australian cricketer has been a part of the national team since 2007.

Record Breaker

She has won 8 World Cups ( 6T20s and 2 ODI WCs ). A true all-rounder, Perry’s proficiency in both fast bowling and batting is evidenced by her statistical accomplishments, which include being the third player to take 150 wickets in women’s ODIs and the first to amass 1,000 runs and 100 wickets in T20Is. She also holds the record for the highest score by an Australian woman in Test matches (213 not out), and she was the first to amass 1,000 runs and 100 wickets in T20Is.

Gives immense balance to the squad

Having Perry in your side is like playing with 12 or 13 players. All rounder can prevent a collapse, build an innings, and can finish at the end. She can bat anywhere between positions 4 to 6. Perry has scored 1535 runs in international T20s at an average of 30.70 with a strike rate of 112.70. When she was injured and could not bowl, Perry played as a pure batter.

The Australian all rounder can bowl at any phase of the innings. In the 139 innings, the Sydney-born cricketer has taken 122 wickets with an economy of 5.85. She can swing the ball both ways and can take wickets in the powerplay.

Perry along with Mandhana is very crucial for RCB’s success in the WPL. RCB’s bowling lineup is weak and very inexperienced. Hence, Perry, the bowler needs to step and help RCB bridge the gap between their reliable and explosive batting lineup and a very weak bowling lineup.
