India registered a magical win against Australia on September 25. They bagged a huge 99-run win in that match. Indian batters were on fair. Two of the star batters scored centuries. Suryakumar Yadav scored a classic 72 in 37 balls. Captain KL Rahul scored a responsible half-century in this match. Bowlers were also on a roll. Specially spinners took 6 wickets in the match. India just controlled the match since the start. But Ravichandran took the limelight of bowling after making a comeback.
India’s success story:
India Won the first ODI match by 5 wickets. In the second match, India controlled the whole match since the first. While batting India scored 399/5 in 50 overs. Shubman Gill and Shreyas Iyer scored two mind-blowing centuries. Shubhman Gill scored 104 out of 97 balls. That duo made a partnership of 200 runs.
Shreyas who came back from injury played an outstanding inning of 105 runs in 90 balls which consisted of 11 fours and 3 sixs. Captain KL Rahul played a responsible innings of 52 runs. But the showstopper came at the end. Suryakumar Yadav scored the fastest half-century against Australia. He remained unbeaten on 72 runs by only 37 balls. They bagged a 99-run win. Along with that win, they are leading the series by a 2-0 margin.

Along with the batters, bowlers also dominated Australia in the second innings. Prasidh Krishna took two quick wickets. But all the spotlight came over Ravichandran Ashwin. This Indian spin legend made a comeback in white-ball cricket after almost 20 months. But it didn’t feel like that. He dismissed Marnus Labuschagne in the 13th over. The cricket fan witnessed Ashwin vs. Warner again. At the same over he dismissed Warner and Josh Inglis.
Before Ashwin’s over Australia was 89-2 but after his deliveries Australia became 101-5. After taking these three wickets, Ashwin became the highest wicket-taker for India in international cricket against a single opponent. Ashwin took a total of 144 wickets. He surpassed Kapil Dev and Anil Kumble.

Ahead of the World Cup Indian team management opted for a rotational rest process. In the first two ODIs, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Hardik Pandya were on rest. They are going to play in the final ODI in Rajkot. Shardul Thakur and Shubhman Gill have been rested for the final ODI. India will start their World Cup journey on October 8 against England.
