Reports were saying, BCCI is not willing to extend the contract with him. On November 29, BCCI announced the extended tenure with Rahul Dravid as the Indian coach. Along with him, the other support staff’s tenure is extended now.

After India’s defeat in the World Cup, a lot of buzz was going over Rahul Dravid’s future as the Indian coach. According to some sources, Rahul Dravid was not willing to renew his position. Sources were saying, he was in talks with an IPL franchise to be the head coach. But BCCI’s official announcement ended all the buzz.
In an announcement, BCCI said, “The BCCI engaged in productive discussions with MR. Rahul Dravid after the term of his contract ended following the recently concluded ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 and unanimously agreed to further the tenure.” Along with that, the contract was extended for all other support staff.

The new contract will be reviewed after the T20 World Cup which will be happened in the West Indies and the US. the tournament will start on June 3 and will conclude on June 30. After the renewal of the new tenure, Rahul Dravid’s first series will be the South Africa tour. After the announcement, Dravid will join the team as early as possible.
