“All the people who talk about Strike Rate and me not playing spin” Virat Kohli Fires Back at Critics Over Spin Struggles

The 45th match of the tournament has seen an intense clash between Gujarat Titans and Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the Narendra Modi Stadium. The Titans faced yet another setback by losing the game by 9 wickets. On the other hand, RCB showcased their masterclass and registered a remarkable win. After that Kohli made a big remark.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s Dominating Win:

After a rocky start, Royal Challengers Bengaluru staged a stunning revival in the tournament. Their encounter with Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad was nothing short of spectacular. Facing a daunting target of over 200 runs, RCB displayed sheer dominance, chasing down the total in a mere 16 overs. Gujarat’s formidable score of 200/3 seemed insurmountable, but RCB’s relentless pursuit saw them emerge victorious. It was a match filled with twists and turns, showcasing RCB’s resilience and determination to turn the tide in their favor.

While batting in the second innings, RCB gave a promising start but lost Faf du Plessis’ wicket in the 4th over. After that, Royal Challengers Bengaluru batters didn’t let the GT bowlers dominate them. Virat Kohli and Will Jacks took RCB’s innings in a different level. Will Jackes scored an exceptional century and remained unbeaten on 100 runs in 41 balls. On the other hand, Virat Kohli showcased his brilliance remaining unbeaten on 70 runs in 44 balls. They hammered a huge 9-wicket win to Gujarat Titans.

Virat Kohli on the Criticism:

During the 2024 Indian Premier League, Virat Kohli’s performance against spinners became a hot topic of discussion. In the recent match against SRH, Kohli began aggressively in the power-play but later slowed down, eventually scoring 51 runs off 43 balls. Following his match-winning 70 off 44 balls against Gujarat, Kohli responded to critics with a strong statement.

He said, “All the people who talk about Strike Rate and me not playing spin we’ll talk about these things (numbers) – it’s just about doing my job – it’s kind of a muscle memory for me now.”

Will Jacks played an incredible innings of unbeaten 100 runs in just 41 deliveries. That knock gave a huge boost to their innings, while praising him, Kohli said, “Phenomenal, initially when he came to bat, he was annoyed that he wasn’t able to strike the ball as he wanted to. The only talk was to for him to stay calm, we know how explosive he can be when he gets going. The over from Mohit was the game changer, I was just happy to stay around and watch him go.”
