The 45th match of the tournament saw Royal Challengers Bengaluru clash with Gujarat Titans in a thrilling encounter, with RCB emerging victorious at Gujarat’s home ground. Meanwhile, Chennai Super Kings battled Sunrisers Hyderabad at the M Chidambaram Stadium. Both matches showcased outstanding bowling performances, shaking up the Purple Cap standings and leaving fans on the edge of their seats with anticipation and excitement.
RCB’s Excellence and GT’s Poor Bowling:
The 45th match of the tournament witnessed a thrilling clash between Royal Challengers Bengaluru. The Ahmedabad spectators enjoyed an intense fixture. After winning the toss, Royal Challengers Bengaluru captain Faf du Plessis opted to bowl first. Swapnil Singh got the first success for the team as he dismissed Wriddhiman Saha. In the seventh over, Glenn Maxwell sent Shubman Gill back to the pavilion. Shahrukh Khan and Sai Sudharsan made an excellent partnership which was boosting GT’s innings, Siraj broke that. He dismissed Shahrukh Khan at a crucial time and stopped them on 200/3.
On the other hand, Gujarat Titans appeared in this match with consecutive setbacks. But they faced another hard luck. After scoring 200 runs in the first innings, they struggled with the ball in the second innings. Sai Kishore dismissed Faf du Plessis in the 4th over in 24 runs. That was the only success for GT. The bowlers conceded too many runs. Noor Ahmed conceded 43 runs in 4 overs but failed to secure any wickets. Mohit Sharma gave 41 runs i just 2 overs. Rashid Khan conceded 51 runs in 4 overs. As a result of that, they faced a massive defeat of 9 wickets against Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
Hyderabad’s Struggle and Chennai’s Brilliance:
In the second match of the day, Chennai Super Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad faced each other in Chennai. After winning the toss, Sunrisers Hyderabad won the toss and they bowled first. Bhuvneshwar Kumar created magic with the ball in the third over as he dismissed Ajiyanka Rahane in 9 runs. But for the second wicket, they had to wait a little longer. Ruturaj Gaikwad and Daryl Mitchell were making an impactful partnership. But Jaydev Unadkat broke that partnership by dismissing Daryl Mitchell. T. Natarajan dismissed Ruturaj on 98 runs and he dismissed his well-deserved century. They stopped Chennai in 212/3.
While batting in the second innings, Sunrisers Hyderabad struggled throughout. Chennai bowlers showcased their brilliance once again. Tushar Deshpande was outstanding. He picked up four wickets in 27 runs. He dismissed Travis Head, Abhishek Sharma, Anmolpreet Singh, and SRH skipper Pat Cummins. Mustafizur Rahman and Matheesha Pathirana took 2 wickets each. Shardul Thakur and Ravindra Jadeja took 1 wicket each. Chennai Super Kings defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by a huge margin of 78 runs.
