Indian Premier League Orange Cap: Updated After GT vs RCB and CSK vs SRH Match No. 45 and 46

What a Sunday it is. In the first match, cricket enthusiasts across India witnessed an exciting thriller between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Gujarat Titans in the 45th match of the tournament. At Gujarat’s home ground, RCB conquered. After the brilliant performances by the batters, they registered a big win. In the second match of the day, Chennai Super Kings faced Sunrisers Hyderabad. That match also saw some brilliant batting performances. Depending on those performances, the Orange Cap table got shattered. 

GT’s Excellent Try and RCB’s Domination:

On the 45th match of the IPL 2024, Gujarat Titans and Royal Challengers Bengaluru locked horns at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. While batting first, the Gujarat Titans lost their first wicket quickly. After that, Shubman Gill also walked away after scoring 16 runs. In that situation, Sai Sudharsan and Shahrukh Khan made an amazing partnership. Shahrukh Khan played an excellent knock of 58 runs in 30 balls. Sudharsan was unbeaten on 84 runs in 49 balls. In 20 overs, they scored 200 runs. 

In the second innings, RCB gave an excellent start just losing Faf du Plessis’ wicket initially. After that dismissal, Virat Kohli and Will Jacks took the innings. Will Jacks was outstanding. After scoring an excellent half-century, he converted that into a century only in 10 balls and remained unbeaten till the end. Along with that, Virat Kohli played an unbeaten knock of 70 runs in 44 balls with 6 boundaries and 3 over boundaries. They defeated the Titans by 9 wickets. 

Super Kings’ Excellence SRH’s Struggle: 

In the second match, Chennai Super Kings locked horns with Sunrisers Hyderabad at the M. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. While batting first, Chennai lost Ajiyanka Rahane’s wicket in the third over. Ruturaj Gaikwad and Daryl Mitchell made a crucial partnership. Daryl Mitchell scored a crucial half-century and played an innings of 52 runs in 32 balls. Even after playing an impactful innings, CSK captain Ruturaj Gaikwad missed his well-deserved century. He was dismissed on 98 runs in 54 balls. Shivam Dube played an unbeaten knock of 39 runs in 20 balls. MS Dhoni was unbeaten innings of 5 runs in 2 balls. In 20 overs, they scored 212/3. 

During the chase of 213 runs, the Sunrisers Hyderabad batsmen struggled. Travis Head got out after scoring 13 runs off 7 balls. Following him, wickets kept falling one after another. Aiden Markram managed to score 32 runs in 26 balls, while Heinrich Klaasen contributed 20 runs in 21 balls, and Abdul Samad added 19 runs in 18 balls. Despite their efforts, they couldn’t match Chennai’s bowling prowess, leading to a significant 78-run defeat for SRH.
