“It Was a Good Win”, Says Rohit Sharma During Post Match Presentation in IND Vs BAN

Team India skipper Rohit Sharma evaluated the team’s performance after securing their fourth straight win of the ongoing 2023 World Cup against Bangladesh. Both the teams played really well with India later taking the control of the match in their hands. After winning the toss, Bangladesh chose to bat first as the pitch was well-suited for batting, hoping that they can chase a large number. Indian bowling attack made sure to restrict the Bengal Tigers within 256 runs with 8 wickets down. All the bowlers took 2 wickets each with Kuldeep Yadav and Shardul Thakur taking one-one wicket each.

Bangladeshi openers Tanzid Khan and Litton Das smashed half centuries but as they got dismissed, Bangladesh’s batting line-up got dismantled putting India on an easy side. With the beginning of second innings, openers Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill showcased their dominant batting prowess and stitched a 88-run partnership. Virat Kohli, the king went on to smash his 49th ODI century with 103 runs off 97 deliveries. Kohli was already onto something big as the 34-year old batter displayed his exceptional batting abilities with a magnificent century.

Appreciating everyone’s efforts

During the post match presentation, captain Rohit Sharma reckoned on his fellow teammates skillful abilities and stated “It was a good win, something we were looking forward to. We didn’t start well, but the guys pulled it back in the middle-overs and at the back end. Our fielding has been superb in all these matches, it’s something that is in our control, and you can put in your best effort. The bowlers were smart to understand what lengths to bowl.”

Hardik Pandya’s injury

In addition to this, Rohit also gave a major update on Hardik Pandya’s injury confirming that he is totally fine. “He pulled up a bit sore, but nothing really major to worry. We will see how he pulls up tomorrow morning and then plan on how to go forward. Everyone in the squad has gone through pressure, the crowd is coming in big numbers, the stands are full, they haven’t disappointed us, they have been brilliant and I am sure they will be louder and louder as we move on”, he added heaping praise on the fans.
