Cricket legend Sourav Ganguly has thrown his weight behind the shortest format of the game, calling T20 cricket “an important part of cricket these days.” These comments come amidst the unveiling of the Bengal Pro T20 League trophy in Kolkata.

Speaking at the event, Ganguly acknowledged the evolution of the sport. “It is a great introduction to the game,” he said. “Change is inevitable in everything. Many of us who started playing 2-day cricket and 4-day cricket will have to accept that T20 cricket is here to stay and it is something that will take the game forward.”

The Bengal Pro T20 League, the official franchise-based T20 cricket tournament organized by the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB), is set for its much-anticipated launch on June 11th in Kolkata. The unveiling ceremony included the felicitation of Servotech Power Systems Ltd representatives by Ganguly and Jhulan Goswami, a legendary Indian women’s cricketer.

T20: A Boon for Aspiring Cricketers

Expressing his enthusiasm for the Bengal Pro T20 League, Ganguly highlighted the opportunity it presents for aspiring cricketers. “It’s happening in every state,” he said. “We are probably 5-6 years late on this. Any way of playing the sport will always be very helpful. T20 is an important part of cricket these days and this will be a huge opportunity for everyone to perform.”
