Mitchell Marsh, the star all-rounder for DC, has suffered a hamstring tear and has flown back to Australia for treatment. The injury occurred during a match against the Kolkata Knight Riders, where Marsh was dismissed for a duck. He had not managed to score 30+ runs in an innings this season, making it a challenging IPL for him.
The Australian all-rounder’s injury comes at a crucial time, with the T20 World Cup approaching, where he is in contention to be named as the T20I captain for Australia. Marsh’s absence will be felt by DC, as he has been a vital part of their squad in all formats of the game.
Meanwhile, David Warner, the veteran opening batter for DC, injured his finger during a match against the Lucknow Super Giants. Warner is set to undergo scans in Ahmedabad ahead of DC’s next game against the Gujarat Titans on April 17. Warner’s injury adds to DC’s woes, as they have only won two out of their six games so far and currently sit ninth on the points table.
