“I will be back to playing” Rinku Singh Set to Return to Full Match Play Against RCB

The IPL is almost in the midway. Teams are fighting hard to be the best. In this season, Kolkata Knight Riders’ performance is seeking attention. But their star batter Rinku Singh participated in the past few matches as an impact player. After facing a narrow defeat against Rajasthan Royals, he opened up about his injury.

Rinku Singh on His Injury:

In the 2024 Indian Premier League, Kolkata Knight Riders is in great form. They are dominating the tournament. They have been using Rinku Singh as an Impact Player, primarily for his batting prowess. This approach has led to questions about KKR’s strategy, as Rinku is also known for his agility in the field, helping to stop runs and create dismissals. Fans find the situation puzzling, as his contributions extend beyond just batting, making him a valuable all-around asset. KKR’s approach has sparked debates about Rinku’s role and usage.

After playing the previous matches just as an impact player, Rinku Singh talked about his injury and shared news about his availability. He said, “I had a niggle, I will be back to playing the full match against RCB on Sunday.”

A Down Memory Lane:

In 2023, Kolkata Knight Rider’s match with Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium will always be remembered. Rinku Singh grabbed attention with his remarkable feat of hitting five consecutive sixes in that match. With the team needing 28 runs off five deliveries, Rinku’s powerful batting led them to a thrilling last-ball victory in the group stage. His outstanding performance made him a standout player and earned him widespread recognition.

After that, he recalled his excellent five sixes against Yash Dayal. Rinku said, “That day was my day. It was a very good feeling (5 sixes in 2023). But, in this season, I have not been able to get a lot of chances to bat. The top-order batters are doing very well, for instance, Narine today. Whatever opportunities, I get, I will try to score in them.”

The Knight Riders will play against the struggling Royal Challengers Bengaluru on Sunday, marking their second match in the tournament. RCB will aim to bounce back and seek revenge for their previous loss.
