After injury curtailed his playing days, Shastri seamlessly transitioned into a prominent commentator, covering cricket globally. His journey of 80 Tests and 150 ODIs for India reflects not just versatility but also resilience. From a player to a commentator, Shastri’s enduring impact echoes through the cricketing world. 

After retiring, Ravi Shastri embraced commentary. Appointed as the director of the Indian cricket team in 2014, he held the position until the 2016 World Cup. Returning a year later as coach after Anil Kumble’s departure, Shastri molded a resilient Indian side, particularly excelling in Test cricket.

 The team reached the 2019 World Cup semifinals and secured historic Test series victories in Australia under Shastri’s guidance.
