Wriddhiman Saha wears pants backward, the reason will leave you laughing

Wriddhiman Saha’s explosive half-century powered Gujarat Titans to a resounding victory over Lucknow Super Giants in the Indian Premier League 2023 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Saha’s blitzkrieg innings of 81 runs off just 43 balls, featuring 10 fours and four sixes, not only earned him the man-of-the-match award but also the title of the fastest-ever fifty scorer for the defending champions. 

Partnering with Shubman Gill, Saha set the tone for the Titans’ innings with a crucial opening partnership of 142 runs. Their blazing start proved to be a nightmare for the Lucknow Super Giants as the Titans finished with a formidable total of 227 runs for the loss of just two wickets. 

Saha’s hilarious incident

However, Saha’s night was not without a hilarious incident that sparked a flurry of memes on Twitter. As the Titans tried to substitute him with KS Bharat as the wicketkeeper during the break before the second inning, the umpires disallowed the substitution. As a result, Saha hurriedly returned to the field. But, in his haste, he had accidentally put on his trousers backward, creating a light-hearted moment that had everyone in splits. 

Even as the cameras captured the likes of Hardik Pandya, Mohammed Shami, and Quinton de Kock struggling to contain their laughter, online spectators joined in on the fun, turning the incident into a meme on social media. 

Saha explains the reason

After the game, the official Twitter handle of the Indian Premier League posted an interview of Wriddhiman Saha, and KS Bharat in which the two can be seen laughing about the incident. “I told the umpires that you (Saha) are having the needling session, but they didn’t allow me to keep,” Bharat said laughingly. 

Saha then went on to explain what exactly happened. He added, “I was eating, then the Physio told me to take medicine, and meanwhile, the needling session was also on. In a rush, I wore the trousers the other way around down. But after two overs, I returned, and you (KS Bharat) did a wonderful job.”
