“We will come back stronger” RCB Coach Andy Flower Reflects on Tough Loss, Vows to Bounce Back Stronger

In the midway, IPL has become more intense. Every match is setting the excitement to a different level. But among all the teams, Royal Challengers Bengaluru is struggling. After losing consecutive matches, they are standing in the last position of the points table. In the last match, they faced another heartbreaking defeat against Sunrisers Hyderabad. After that heartbreaking loss, RCB’s coach opened up.

RCB’s Struggle Continued:

After losing consecutive games, Royal Challengers Bengaluru faced Sunrisers Hyderabad at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on April 15. While bowling first, Royal Challengers Bengaluru bowlers struggle once again. In the most crucial time, they conceded plenty of runs. Lockie Ferguson conceded 52 runs and took 2 wickets. Reece Topley took 1 wicket in 68 runs. No other bowler got a wicket. They just failed to stop the opponent bowlers.

In the second innings, batting performances were truly commendable. Chasing down the giant total of 288 runs. Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis gave a good start. Du Plessis completed his century and played a knock of 62 runs in 28 balls. But Dinesh Karthik’s extraordinary performance caught the limelight. He played a brilliant knock of 83 runs in just 35 balls. He smashed 5 boundaries and 7 over-boundaries. But those efforts couldn’t save the match. They lost the match by 25 runs.

Andy Flower’s Words:

After losing the match, the upcoming fixtures become extremely crucial for the team. After playing 7 matches, they registered 6 defeats. The road will not be easy. RCB’s coach Andy Flower opened up about this. He said, “It is obviously knockout time and every game is like a semifinal for us now. But we will have to think that we will come back stronger. It was a really tough night in the field, of course, as they finished so powerfully that it probably took the wind out of our souls.”

Even after those toothless bowling performances, the RCB batter fought effortlessly. While praising them, Flower said, “I am really proud of the way we fought with the bat out there in the middle. We lost the game but I was really proud of the way we fought. Dinesh Karthik is really making a push for the World Cup team (of India) as well and is only getting better on the field.”
