Siraj Wishes Luck to The Bowlers As 40 Runs In 4 Overs Become New Normal

After Royal Challengers Bangalore’s match against Gujarat Titans at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad on Sunday, RCB’s 30 year old pacer spoke out for his fellow Bowlers.

The match was another 200 scorer with RCB winning against GT by 9 wickets. RCB had also won the toss, choosing to bowl first against Shubman Gill led GT.

“As a bowler you also need luck in T20 cricket” -Siraj

Even though this time the favourable conditions for batters helped Mohammed Siraj’s team RCB win the match, the pacer couldn’t stop from talking about how tough these times have turned out to be for bowlers.

“Earlier conceding 40 runs in four overs used to be considered expensive, now it’s the new normal,” the India seamer said. “There is no help for the bowlers. The grounds are small, and the wickets are flat. There’s no swing. The bowlers can just bowl and get hit.” said Siraj.

Seemingly siding with his fellow bowlers he added, “Now in every second you see scores of 250-260,” he said. “It used to be rare earlier. And as a bowler you also need luck in T20 cricket.”

How RCB batters took charge

After bowling in the first innings, RCB had given out 200 runs to the GT batsmen. However, Bangalore managed to score 206 runs with 9 wickets still remaining.

RCB batsman Will Jacks scored a 100* hence becoming POTM. Virat Kohli on the other hand, scored 70* runs. The one wicket RCB lost was of their captain, Faf du Plessis who returned to the pavilion after scoring 24 runs off 12 balls.

Kohli hypes Will Jacks After 41-ball century

Videos have surfaced, of Virat Kohli hyping up his fellow teammate Will Jacks after winning the match. The batter had scored a century, while also hitting the winning-6 for RCB. The English cricketer seemed embarrassed about the situation.

Virat was seen saying he was ready to run for a 3rd run, but Will didn’t go for it and scored a match-winning six. Kohli praised his game.

“He called for two and when he looked back I was ready for three. And he decided, I have to hit every ball for six now because I am not running anymore. That was the secret.” said Kohli.
