Kieron Pollard has been a big asset for Mumbai Indians for a number of years. Even though he is not contributing with the ball these days, the Caribbean is still a powerful hitter and one of the safest catchers on the outfield. Earlier in the league, he had taken a blinder on the point boundary to dismiss Suresh Raina in the game against Chennai Super Kings.
Pollard has stepped up big time with the bat in the last couple of games. In the last match against Sunrisers Hyderabad, he played a gem of a knock batting with the tail-enders. Batting first, MI was struggling at 97/7 after 18 overs. Kieron Pollard collected 39 runs from the last 2 overs to help his team get to a competitive total of 136. He ended up scoring 46 from 26 balls that included 2 fours and 4 sixes.
He is known for his tremendous power and clears any ground easily. During his knock against SRH, Pollard showed that even one hand is good enough for him to clear the fence. The right-hander was batting against Siddarth Kaul in the 19th over. The pacer delivered the first ball outside off which would have been a wide had the batsman left that alone.
But Pollard threw his bat to it and the left hand came off the bat. The connection was good enough and the ball landed way back into the crowd. That six got him going and he ended up hitting 3 more.

Alzarri Joseph wreaked havoc in MI’s win
Mumbai didn’t seem to have enough on the board against the strong SRH batting line-up. The hosts began well by adding 33 runs for the first wicket in quick time. But once Jonny Bairstow got out, MI took charge. The debutant Alzarri Joseph made his name by bagging 6 wickets for 12 runs. The visitors won the game by 40 runs as Joseph finished with best figures in IPL history.
