In the 19th match of IPL 2019, Sunrisers Hyderabad hosted Mumbai Indians at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. The visitors struggled with the bat and were in danger of falling short of a competitive total. They were reeling at 97/7 after 18 overs.

Kieron Pollard was still at the crease and he took matters into his own hands. He smashed 20 and 19 from the 19th and 20th overs respectively to take his side to a respectable 136/7. It wasn’t a huge total against the strong SRH batting line-up but the bowlers had at least something to bowl at.

David Warner and Jonny Bairstow came out all guns blazing on the back of tremendous forms in the league. Rahul Chahar provided the first breakthrough when he sent back Bairstow for 16 in the 4th over. It was the opening MI needed and they cashed on it big time.

Alzarri Joseph, who was making his IPL debut, came into the attack in the 5th over. On the very first ball, he castled Warner for 15. In his next over, he removed Vijay Shankar to turn the game in his team’s favor. SRH collapsed and lost 2 more wickets. When Mohammad Nabi and Deepak Hooda stitched together a partnership, Alzarri Joseph came back to strike again.

He removed Hooda and Rashid Khan off consecutive deliveries in his 3rd over. While Jasprit Bumrah dismissed Nabi, Joseph accounted for the wickets of Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Siddharth Kaul. SRH was bowled out for 96 as MI won the match by 40 runs.
