Rohit Sharma Urged to Help Yashasvi Jaiswal Regain Form Ahead of T20 World Cup

As the IPL 2024 season progresses, the spotlight is on young talents vying for a spot in India’s squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup. Among them, Yashasvi Jaiswal‘s struggles have raised concerns, prompting India’s captain Rohit Sharma to intervene personally.

“Since I like this kid a lot, I want Kumar Sangakkara to talk to him, or else Rohit Sharma should pick up the phone and talk to him and say – ‘You have to go to the T20 World Cup but this form is not required, play a little cautiously’,” said former India batter Aakash Chopra, expressing his concerns over Jaiswal’s aggressive approach in the IPL.

Jaiswal, who impressed during the Test series against England, has failed to replicate his success in the IPL. With only 121 runs from six innings, including scores of 24, 5, 10, 0, 24, and 39, Jaiswal’s form has been a shadow of his previous performances. This dip in form has sparked worries about his readiness for the T20 World Cup.

” I am getting slightly worried about Yashasvi because Yashasvi didn’t used to play like this. He is trying to murder every ball. You are a very good player, and you are good because you believe in timing. You are not a wrestler and you are not Andre Russell. Your playing style is very different,” Chopra said on his YouTube channel.

To address these concerns, Rohit Sharma has been asked to personally discuss Jaiswal’s form. As a key player in India’s T20 plans, Jaiswal’s success is crucial to the team’s balance and performance in the tournament.

Rohit Sharma’s guidance and support could be pivotal in helping Jaiswal regain his confidence and form. With the T20 World Cup approaching, India will be looking for their players to be in top form, and Jaiswal’s resurgence could be a significant boost to the team’s chances in the tournament.
