With the IPL 2024 season wrapping up soon, the BCCI has now started planning and preparing for the T20 World Cup 2024.
The tournament is to be co-hosted by USA and West Indies as the matches will be held in these two countries. Team India has not yet announced the squad for the championship, but talks seem to be ongoing.
As the 43rd IPL match concluded between Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians, MI ex-captain Rohit Sharma was caught meeting BCCI chief selector Ajit Agarkar. The two are said to have discussed the playing squad ahead of the championship.

According to sources, the BCCI selection committee has decided on letting KL Rahul play in the championship.
Several cricket experts like ex-player Irfan Pathan had previously ignored KL while choosing their ideal team for the tournament.
Rishabh Pant, is another player who has been decided upon as a wicketkeeper alongside Rahul, the same source Claims. Both KL and Pant are captains of Lucknow Super Giants and Delhi Capitals respectively.
Left-handed batsman Shivam Dube is likely to get a call from the committee following him showcasing his brilliant skills at the shortest form of the game in past few years.
Tournament starts on June 1
The ICC T20 World Cup starts on June 1 and the matches are to be held in the USA and West Indies. India’s first match is scheduled for June 5 against a relatively easier-to-play-against Ireland.
The most awaited game in the tournament for Indian and Pakistani cricket fans is the clash between the two on-field rival teams. The Ind vs Pak match is to be held on June 9 at Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York.
