Zaheer Khan Reflects on Virat Kohli and Ishant Sharma’s Entertaining Banter During IPL Match

In that match, Virat Kohli and Ishant Sharma shared some friendly banter on the field and that moment caught the eyes. On the 62nd match of the IPL 2024, Royal Challengers Bengaluru faced Delhi Capitals at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.  During the IPL match, Virat Kohli initiated the banter by exchanging words with Ishant Sharma after an edge went for a boundary. Undeterred, Kohli then smashed the next delivery for an excellent over-boundary, showing his prowess. Ishant, however, had his revenge when he dismissed Kohli with a delivery that swung away. Despite the sledding, Kohli remained composed, understanding the friendly nature of the exchange.

After taking Kohli’s wicket, Ishant celebrated exuberantly, even pushing Kohli lightly in his excitement. Kohli, with a grin on his face, accepted the jesting push and walked back to the pavilion. The incident showcased the camaraderie between the players, highlighting the spirit of sportsmanship in the IPL.

Fans enjoyed their banter on the field. After watching this, former Indian bowler Zaheer Khan talked about that. He said, “When things are slipping out of your hands, you have to back yourself to take the wicket of a big player. It was the first time he’d dismissed him, so that was a great moment, especially their banter. Winning and losing is a part of the game.”

Later he added, “ Sometimes you will be hit for runs and sometimes, you will take a wicket, and that oversaw both of those things. You rarely get to see moments like these, even their banter, especially from Virat Kohli. They are good friends and that’s why we got such a great moment, it is a part of the game.”

After facing consecutive setbacks, Royal Challengers Bengaluru made an amazing comeback. After breaking the defeating streak, they registered five consecutive wins. With those amazing wins their play-off hope is still alive.
