RCB’s Swapnil Singh Praises Team’s Bowling Effort, Calls 207-Run Target Defendable Against SRH

In a post-match statement, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) bowling all-rounder Swapnil Singh expressed satisfaction with his team’s performance against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), stating that the 207-run target set by RCB was defendable due to the slowing nature of the pitch. Swapnil, who made his debut for RCB, described the experience as great and highlighted the importance of the team’s victory.

Regarding the pitch conditions, Swapnil mentioned, “The ball was stopping. Our main aim as spinners was to spin the ball. For fast bowlers, the strategy was to go for slowers. We knew that they were going to come hard at us and they did.” He added, “Yes, it was defendable (the target). The wicket was stopping when we were batting. The dew was not there. We just wanted to hit our lengths.”

Swapnil also acknowledged the shift in momentum within the team following a win, stating, “It feels good. We missed the last game (against KKR) by a run. Everyone would be happy, but a long way post-powerplay, Rajat Patidar (50 in 20 balls, with two fours and five sixes) injected life into the RCB’s innings.”

RCB’s victory over SRH was a team effort, with contributions from various players. Despite SRH’s efforts, including notable performances from Abhishek Sharma, RCB’s bowlers, led by Green and Karn Sharma, managed to restrict SRH to 171 in their 20 overs, securing a 35-run win for RCB.
