IPL 2024 Purple Cap: Updated After Mumbai Indians vs Sunrisers Hyderabad Match No. 55

Another day, another thrilling match loaded in the IPL 2024. Mumbai Indians faced Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Wankhede Stadium. The entire country enjoyed another nail-biting match. This match registered some excellent bowling performances which made the match more thrilling. That has impacted the Purple Cap table. 

Mumbai’s Exceptional Bowling Performance:

As the match was an exciting one, Mumbai Indians skipper Hardik Pandya decided to bowl first. Since the beginning, Mumbai displayed their dominating bowling side. In the sixth over, Jasprit Bumrah got the first breakthrough for the team after dismissing  Abhishek Sharma in 11 runs. Debutant Anshul Kamboj dismissed Mayank Agarwal. But Hardik Pandya and Piyush Chawla set the stage on fire. 

Both the bowlers displayed their absolute best performance in the match. Hardik Pandya led the team from the front. Hardik Pandya dismissed Nitish Kumar Reddy on 20 runs. After that, he dismissed Marco Jansen and Shahbaz Ahmed. He ended up taking three wickets. On the other hand, Piyush Chawla picked up the big wicket of Travis Head. later on, he also dismissed Heinrich Klaasen and Abdul Samad. Their team effort, they stopped Hyderabad in 173 runs. 

Sunrisers’ Bowling Struggle:

Sunrisers Hyderabad faced an uphill battle while bowling in the second innings. Marco Jansen struck early, dismissing Ishan Kishan for 9 runs. However, Pat Cummins’ crucial wicket of Rohit Sharma provided a brief respite. Bhuvneshwar Kumar followed suit by dismissing Naman Dir. Despite the early breakthroughs, the SRH bowlers struggled to maintain control as the Mumbai batters showcased their masterclass, overpowering them with ease. In the end, Sunrisers Hyderabad succumbed to a defeat by 7 wickets, unable to contain Mumbai’s relentless onslaught.
