RCB vs CSK: Final over drama sees plenty of twists and turns

In a nail-biting encounter between the Chennai Super Kings and the Royal Challengers Bangalore, chaos ensued in the final over of the game. It was a match filled with drama and controversy as Harshal Patel of Royal Challengers Bangalore brought the final over, with Moeen Ali and Ravindra Jadeja on strike for the Chennai Super Kings. The match was full of twists and turns, with the umpires making some contentious calls.

On the second ball of the over, Harshal bowled a beamer outside off, well above the waistline. Ali flapped it away into the leg side, and the umpires called it a no-ball. RCB challenged the on-field call, but it was clear that it was a no-ball. Chennai Super Kings were given a free hit, but Jadeja could only manage one leg-bye, bringing Moeen Ali back on the strike.

The third ball again, Harshal kept searching for the yorker outside off, but it was another high-full toss outside off, but it was not called a beamer this time. Chennai Super Kings challenged the on-field call, and the review revealed that it was indeed above the waistline, resulting in another no-ball.

Before taking strike for the free hit, Jadeja checked with the CSK dugout whether he should get retired, and asked Dhoni to face the remaining balls. However, Dhoni denied the request and urged Jadeja to continue batting. Furthermore, after Harshal Patel’s second beamer, he was banned from bowling for the rest of the innings as per the rules. This meant that Royal Challengers Bangalore had to bring in Glenn Maxwell to bowl the last two balls of the match.

Jadeja took the strike for his second consecutive free hit and hit it six over long-on, bringing the crowd to their feet. However, the very next ball, Jadeja got out, and to the fans’ delight, MS Dhoni came out to bat to face the final two deliveries of the innings. CSK finished the innings at 226 for the loss of 6 wickets as Dhoni just faced one ball and scored a single off of it.
