Sourav Ganguly Supports Delhi Capitals Players for T20 World Cup

Sourav Ganguly, Director of Cricket for Delhi Capitals, expresses strong confidence in Axar Patel’s selection for the Indian team in the upcoming T20 World Cup. Ganguly also supports Rishabh Pant‘s chances of securing a spot in the squad, backing the Delhi Capitals’ skipper for inclusion. With his endorsement, Ganguly underscores both players’ potential contributions to India’s tournament campaign, highlighting their skills and impact in the T20 format.

Axar Patel’s Batting Promotion:

With the marquee event approaching, Axar Patel strengthened his case for selection with an outstanding batting display against Gujarat Titans, showcasing his value to the Indian team for the upcoming T20 World Cup.

Elevated to the number three position, Axar Patel dictated the game against Gujarat Titans with a masterful display of strokeplay, showcasing an array of impressive shots. His dynamic innings of 66 runs off 43 balls for Delhi Capitals left the opposition bowlers struggling to contain him. Axar’s promotion in the batting order proved effective as he confidently executed his shots, solidifying his impact and further bolstering his credentials for selection ahead of the T20 World Cup.

Sourav Ganguly Backed DC Players:

Sourav Ganguly, along with supporting Axar Patel, also endorsed left-arm wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav for inclusion in the Indian team. Ganguly’s backing underscores confidence in Yadav’s abilities, suggesting his potential contribution to the team’s bowling unit for the upcoming cricket events.

He said, “Axar Patel I think is a certainty in the World Cup. Even Rishabh Pant and Kuldeep. But it is my personal opinion. It lengthens the batting, for someone like Rohit with the way cricket is going these days, you want someone who can bat at 8 and give him those 15-20 runs which Axar can do. If he wants someone to bat in the middle and hit spinners, Axar can do, that is the advantage with Jadeja and Axar they are so talented and gifted.”

Competition For Keeper-Batter Position:

The selectors face a daunting challenge in choosing from a wealth of wicket-keeping talent available for selection. Rishabh Pant returned to competitive cricket during the IPL after a 14-month recovery from a car accident injury. Since then, he has regained his form and scored 342 runs for Delhi Capitals this season, with three half-centuries in nine matches. Pant’s impressive performance underscores his resilience and adds strength to his case for selection in upcoming cricketing events.

In addition to Pant, Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson has bolstered his selection prospects with exceptional batting displays in the current season. Samson’s consistent and impactful performances with the bat highlight his strong candidacy for consideration in upcoming selections. His contributions to Rajasthan Royals underscore his skill and form, further enriching the pool of talented players vying for spots in key cricketing events.

While talking about the keeper-batter position, Sourav Ganguly said, “Don’t ask me that question,” Ganguly said jokingly. “I love, Sanju and I love Rishabh. Rishabh will go, Sanju might also go. I am not saying Sanju should not go he is as good as a player as anybody. He keeps, he bats, and he has captained Rajasthan superbly. But Rishabh will go.”

Delhi Capitals, gaining momentum with three victories in their last four matches, are set to face the Mumbai Indians on Saturday at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. The team’s recent success has boosted their confidence ahead of this crucial encounter. With both teams aiming for a pivotal win in the IPL season, this matchup promises to be an exciting and competitive contest between two formidable sides on the cricketing stage.
