RCB Fans Get Praised By Gavaskar Over Their Loyalty Towards The Team

If Royal Challengers Bangalore is lucky about one thing, it’s their fandom. The team has not won any IPL trophies in the history of the tournament, yet the fans keep supporting their favourite team with much enthusiasm and loyalty.

RCB is gearing up to compete against Shubman Gill’s Gujarat Titans today at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore. Despite winning their last 2 matches, RCB is still placed at the 10th position on the points table, while GT holds the 8th spot.

Sunil Gavaskar hails RCB fans

Before today’s match, current commentator and former Indian cricketer and Team India captain Sunil Gavaskar spoke up about how praise worthy the RCB fandom is.

The fans make sure to support their favourite team through social media, defend them everywhere and show up to the matches, despite RCB’s subpar performance in the tournament.

The Bangalore team has never lifted an IPL trophy, even though they came close to winning twice, unfortunately losing in the finals.

In a segment before the match, Gavaskar said “RCB fans are praise-worthy, they are really really loyal to the team”.

When RCB fans took their jerseys to graduation in the USA

Recently, a video has been making rounds on social media. The video shows a graduation ceremony from a US college. A die hard RCB fan Likhita Suggala made sure to flaunt her favourite team’s jersey after receiving her degree certificate.

The trend was set by a senior student of the same university. Earlier Ruthvik Sankar did the same by showing off his RCB flag at the graduation ceremony. After he was handed out the degree, Sankar waved an RCB flag on the stage. At that time, his gesture created a lot of buzz on social media. Following Sankar’s footsteps, Likhitha Suggala has now shown her loyalty towards RCB.

Gavaskar replies to Kohli’s clap back

Virat Kohli has been criticised for his low strike rate in the IPL 2024 season. One of his constant critics has been former team India captain Sunil Gavaskar.

After winning the last RCB vs Gujarat Titans match in Gujarat by 9 wickets, Virat Kohli made sure to answer these critics back. In his post match statement Kohli said,

“All people who talk about strike rates and me not playing spin well are the ones who love talking about this stuff [numbers]. But for me it’s just about winning the game for the team. And there is a reason why you do it for 15 years. Because you have done this day in and out.”

Now as a reply to this, Sunil Gavaskar has made sure to highlight how Star Sports has been showing Kohli’s answer to the critics repeatedly on their channel.

“If Star Sports shows this (Star showing Kohli’s comments) once more I’ll be disappointed. It’s questioning our knowledge. Not only us (Hayden & myself) but all those commentators upstairs & all those earlier. We r talking only what we see” he said.
