Rachin Ravindra said, “Chepauk was the loudest crowd I’ve played in front of in my career”.

This statement highlights the passionate support and intense ambiance that cricket enthusiasts bring to the stands, especially during matches held at iconic venues like Chepauk.

Rachin’s aggressive intent was evident as he smashed three boundaries and as many sixes in his 15-ball innings. He also proved his worth in the field, taking crucial catches of Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli.

Kumble praised Rachin’s ability to replace Devon Conway at the top of the batting order and his skill against both pace and spin bowling. Rachin’s performance was crucial in CSK’s successful chase of RCB’s 174-run target, with CSK winning with 6 wickets and 8 balls remaining.

“It’s not easy to come in and take Devon Conway at the top of the batting order. He came in and played his shots brilliantly, not just against the fast-bowlers, he was good against spin too. And that’s something to have to do as a batter, especially playing at the Cheapuk,” Kumble said.

Overall, Rachin’s IPL debut was a testament to his talent and potential, and he is expected to play a significant role for CSK in the remainder of the tournament.
