Royal Challengers Bangalore may have been facing challenges in the 2024 Indian Premier League, but their star batsman, Virat Kohli, has been in excellent form this season. Currently leading the Orange Cap race, Kohli’s team is set to face the high-flying Sunrisers Hyderabad, led by captain Pat Cummins, in an upcoming match.
The two teams are meeting for the second time this season, with RCB aiming for a stronger bowling performance at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. In their previous encounter, SRH set the record for the highest-ever score in IPL history, posting 287/3 in 20 overs.
A viral video captured a moment between Kohli and Cummins before the match, adding spice to their rivalry. Cummins, engaged in batting practice, approached Kohli, who was resting after training. Cummins, with a smile, mentioned, “I heard you saying I was making that wicket look flat,” referring to his batting practice.
Kohli laughed and complimented Cummins, saying, “You are too good, Pat.”

In their previous match, both teams set a T20 record with a combined total of 549 runs. Despite RCB’s efforts in chasing 287, they fell short, scoring 262/7.
RCB, known for their strong batting, have struggled with bowling balance this season. In a recent match against Kolkata Knight Riders, they narrowly lost by just one run in a 223-run chase, showcasing their fighting spirit with the bat.
On the other hand, Sunrisers Hyderabad, with Travis Head in great form, aim to maintain their top-four position. Head and Abhishek Sharma‘s opening partnership of 125 without losing a wicket against Delhi Capitals highlighted their potential.
