IPL 2024 Points Table: Updated After Royal Challengers Bengaluru vs Gujarat Titans Match No. 52

Another intense showdown happened on the big stage of the IPL 2024. Royal Challengers Bengaluru locked horns with Gujarat Titans at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Royal Challengers Bangaluru won the toss and elected to bowl first, displaying dominance over the Gujarat Titans’ batting lineup. Mohammed Siraj struck early, dismissing Wriddhiman Saha and later Shubman Gill. Cameron Green added to the pressure by dismissing Sai Sudharsan. Despite a partnership between Shahrukh Khan and David Miller, Karn Sharma’s crucial dismissal of Miller slowed down the Titans’ momentum. However, Shahrukh Khan and Rahul Tewatia tried to revive the innings until Virat Kohli’s brilliant run-out ended Khan’s innings. Yash Dayal and Vyshak Vijaykumar also contributed with crucial wickets, limiting the Titans to 147 runs.

In response, the Titans faced a tough challenge as their batting struggles continued, with early dismissals of Saha and Gill. Despite efforts from Khan, Miller, Tewatia, and Rashid Khan, their contributions weren’t enough to pose a significant threat. Gujarat Titans managed to score 147 runs, facing a defeat by nine wickets against Royal Challengers Bangaluru.

Titans’ Exceptional Effort But RCB’s Stunning Effort:

Chasing the target of 148 runs proved to be an easy task for Royal Challengers Bangaluru as Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis provided a strong start. Kohli’s exceptional half-century, scoring 64 runs off just 23 balls, set the tone for the innings. However, after their dismissals, the team faced a minor setback with quick wickets falling, including players like Will Jacks and Rajat Patidar. Despite this, Dinesh Karthik’s unbeaten 21 runs and Swapnil Singh’s 15 runs ensured victory by four wickets.

In the second innings, the Titans’ bowlers struggled initially but eventually found their rhythm. Joshua Little’s impressive spell saw him taking four crucial wickets, including the key dismissals of du Plessis and Glenn Maxwell. Noor Ahmed also contributed with two wickets. However, despite their efforts, the Titans faced defeat by four wickets against Royal Challengers Bangaluru.

Changes in the Points Table:

For the second time, Royal Challengers Bengaluru defeated Gujarat Titans by four-wicket for the second time in this league. With this excellent win, Royal Challengers Bengaluru moved up to the seventh pace of the points table. On the other hand, Gujarat Titans slipped at the ninth position of the points table.
