Only VVS Laxman allowed to speak to Bumrah: BCCI official

Jasprit Bumrah’s injury has been a headache not for the Indian team, but also for his fans. The right-arm pacer has been out of action since September last year. However, Bumrah has completed his surgery in New Zealand and is currently being monitored by his doctors there. However, BCCI has decided to keep his recovery process a secret.

Bumrah’s recovery kept secret

According to a report by The Indian Express, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has kept the details of Jasprit Bumrah‘s injury a secret, with only a few officials being aware of the situation. The report suggests that even the national selection committee has not been fully informed of the extent of Bumrah’s injury and his rehabilitation plan.

The BCCI has reportedly assigned former Indian cricketer VVS Laxman to communicate with Bumrah and the physiotherapists working with him. It is unclear why the BCCI has chosen to keep the details of Bumrah’s injury under wraps, but it is speculated that the organization is trying to avoid any unnecessary panic among fans and teammates.

Only a few people can speak

“Only VVS Laxman has been assigned to speak to him and physios. Even…selection committee has been told…they’ll be informed about…actual injury and…rehab details in due course,” A BCCI official was reported saying by The Indian Express.

Bumrah is a key member of India’s cricket team, and his injury has raised concerns about his availability for the upcoming matches, including the Indian Premier League and the T20 World Cup. The BCCI official stated that the selection committee will be informed about the actual injury and rehabilitation details in due course, suggesting that Bumrah is on his way to recovery.. However, until more information is made available, it is unclear how long Bumrah will be out of action and what impact his absence will have on the Indian team’s performance.
