KL Rahul Dropped From WT20 Squad, Gives First Reaction After The Player Announcement 

KL Rahul fizzled to stake a claim for the moment wicketkeeper’s spot within the Indian Chief Alliance season 2024 as the previous India vice-captain didn’t make the cut within the 15-member list for the T20 World Container. Delhi Capitals captain Rishabh Gasp and Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson were picked as Group India‘s wicketkeepers for the ICC occasion on Tuesday. 

For Rahul, his strike rate was a source of concern in the 2024 season of the cash-rich league. Before India announced its T20 World Cup roster, Rahul made 378 runs at a strike rate of 144.27. In the IPL 2024, shortlisted wicketkeepers Pant and Samson outperformed Rahul in terms of strike rates. On the same day that India announced its T20 World Cup selection, Rahul captained Lucknow Super Giants in IPL 2024 match No.48 against Mumbai Indians.

At his first official statement after not being selected to okay fir the team in WT20C, KL Rahul spoke at LSG’s toss. He said, “In terms of your mindset today and that of the team in the crucial game, describe it for me,” 

“It remains the same, more or less. We’ll try to stay as balanced as possible. Need to come out and put up show. We have had a few good victories. Few changes, Quinton misses out. Kulkarni is in the team. Mayank is back as well. He has bowled really well, he has a huge impact. I have been pushing the physios and medical team. Mayank is eager to go. Important that he gets it out of his head that he had an injury,” Rahul added.

LSG supports Rahul in hard times

As Rahul was not selected to play for team India, despite being one of the star batters, his IPL teammates from Lucknow Super Giants showed their support.

The LSG Captain was prophesied by many cricket experts that he wouldn’t be able to play in T20 world cup as his form wasn’t getting any better, despite a few good IPL matches recently.
