In the 14th match of the IPL 2024, Mumbai Indians and Rajasthan Royals locked horns at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. It was the first match of Mumbai Indians at their home ground and they faced hard again. While batting first, Rohit Sharma, Naman Dhir, and Dewald Brevis walked out on a duck. The team faced setbacks in the beginning. Ishan Kishan scored 16 runs in 14 balls. Tilak Verma and Hardik Pandya scored 32 runs and 34 runs they managed to score 125 in 20 overs. 

Trent Boult delivered a stellar performance for RR, making a significant impact from the onset. Claiming two consecutive wickets in his opening over, including Rohit Sharma and Naman Dhir, and dismissing Dewald Brevis in the second over, he left MI reeling. His exceptional fielding, including a crucial catch, and restricting MI to just 14 runs showcased his pivotal role in RR’s dominance.

RR batters showed their excellence. After Yashasvi Jaiswal and Jos Buttler walked away after scoring 10 and 13 runs, Riyan Parag held the innings. He played an excellent unbeaten knock of 54 runs in 39 balls with 5 boundaries and 3 over-boundaries. They won the match by 6 wickets.
