While batting first, the Hyderabad openers started hitting biggies from the first delivery. Opener Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head gave a great start and after the powerplay, SRH was 125-0.
After that amazing display, Abhishek Sharma opened up their strategy. He said, “I think initially we targeted more than that at first after six overs we decided a bit more but I’m very happy with the team. There was a message today that just assess the wicket but I think Travis did really well in that and I just wallowed in.”
Sharma on Travis Head:
SRH totally outplayed DC bowlers by their excellence. The major credit goes to Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head. Abhishek Sharma played an excellent knock of 46 runs only in 12 deliveries. On the other hand, Head kept showing his brilliance scoring 89 runs in 32 balls. Both the openers added 131 runs in the opening partnership.
While talking about the experience of batting with Head, Abhishek said, “It’s always a pleasure from day one. I have been telling him that I’ve been really a big fan of him from day one because I’I have been following him for the last one year and obviously, he is on our team and we are lucky ones. Obviously, that’s one of the points that you don’t have any pressure from the other end, so I can just go. and express myself.”
Abhisekh on His Batting:
In this IPL, Abhisekh Sharma’s improvement in his batting is highly impressive. Comparing his batting with last season’s performance, there is a lot of difference. Since the beginning of this tournament, he has shown class and contributed to his team. Even in the last match, he played an excellent quick fire that helped his team to conquer the big stage.
While talking about this, he said, “I am very clear about my mindset and my goal. I had a very clear plan in my mind before the IPL.
