It’s a doubleheader day. The Sundays become more exciting for IPL 2024. This Sunday, fans have experienced two exceptional matches. In the first match, Mumbai Indians locked horns with Delhi Capitals, and the second match was scheduled between Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Super Giants. In those matches, bowlers delivered some incredible performances which brought some noticeable changes in the Purple Cap list.
Delhi’s Struggle and Mumbai’s Brilliance:
In the first match of the day, Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians locked horns. In that match, besides some batting masterclass, some dazzling bowling displays caught the limelight. While fielding in the first innings, Axar Patel got the first success as he dismissed Rohit Sharma in 49 runs. After that, Anrich Nortje dismissed Suryakumar Yadav. Both the bowlers ended up taking two wickets each. Khaleel Ahmed got 1 wicket in 39 runs.
In the second innings, Mumbai Indians showcased a dazzling bowling display. Romario Shepherd sent back David Warner early. That was a huge wicket. But Gerald Coetzee was the star of the match. He picked up 4 wickets in 34 runs. Jasprit Bumrah was back in his magic. He took 2 wickets in 22 runs. They stopped Delhi Capitals in 205 runs and experienced their first-ever win in IPL 2024 by 29 runs.
GT’s Average Bowling and LSG’s Dominance:
While bowling in the second innings, Gujarat Titans gave a dominating start. Umesh Yadav took 2 early wickets. He dismissed Quinton de Kock and Devdutt Padikkal. After that, KL Rahul and Marcus Stoinis maintained a good partnership until Darshan Nalkande dismissed Rahul on 33 runs. But they struggled to get Stoinis. Darshan Nalkande and Umesh Yadav ended up taking 2 wickets each and Rashid Khan ended up taking 1 wicket.
The second innings of the match was exceptional for the Lucknow Super Giants bowlers. They were dominating right from the beginning. Yash Thakur dismissed Gill in the beginning. After that, Ravi Bishnoi sent Kane Williamson back. In the whole innings, Yash Thakur registered an amazing spell. He picked up 5 wickets in 30 runs. Krunal Pandya was also amazing. He took 3 wickets in 11 runs. That dominated GT’s innings. Naveen ul Haq and Ravi Bishnoi took 1 wicket each. LSG defeated GT by 33 runs.
