IPL 2020 trade window: Check out the different trades that took place

Trent Boult, Ankit Rajpoot, and K Gowtham have new IPL teams for the upcoming season. On Wednesday the Indian Premier League announced the trades of Trent Boult, Ankit Rajpoot, and K Gowtham’s news was confirmed on Thursday.

IPL trades making headlines

Delhi Capitals traded New Zealand‘s premier speedster Boult to Mumbai Indians. Boult after making his debut in 2014 played for DC in the 2018 and 2019 season. He has 38 wickets from 33 games at 29.47 thus far. On the other hand, and Rajasthan Royals would now get the services of Ankit Rajpoot from Kings XI Punjab. Rajpoot delivered one of the best bowling performances in IPL when he bagged 5/14 in a league game in the 2018 season against Sunrisers Hyderabad. But he did not have a successful showing in 2019 and hence the decision was taken by Punjab. Rajpoot is the only uncapped player to have a five-wicket haul in the IPL. He has so far picked 22 wickets in 23 IPL matches at an average of 27.95 including the five-wicket haul.

K Gowtham, who was part of the Rajasthan Royals franchise, will be seen playing for Kings XI Punjab in the next edition of the Indian Premier League. The Karnataka all-rounder moved to the Kings XI team as part of a trade-off as the Royals acquired the services of Ankit Rajpoot who was with the Punjab franchise.

Delhi and Punjab release two players each

Rajpoot became the second KXIP player to be traded to another team after Ravichandran Ashwin moved to Delhi Capitals earlier this month. Boult is also the second player from Delhi who moved to another team. Jagadeesha Suchith was traded to KXIP by DC to bag Ashwin’s services. Ashwin who led Punjab in last two seasons failed to take them to the playoffs in 2018 and 2019. That was the main reason for Punjab releasing their skipper.
