The IPL 2020 final is going to be postponed again by the BCCI. Reportedly the Board of Control for Cricket in India is planning to reschedule the final date of IPL 2020 from November 8 to November 10.
IPL final date to be rescheduled
After preponing the IPL 2020 dates, now the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is planning to postpone the final date of the league. Reportedly the final might be played on November 10 instead of November 8. In order to send the Indian national cricket team directly to Australia from the UAE for their upcoming tour, the board is working on the new date. The IPL General Council meeting will be held on August 2 and the final decision on the same will be taken at the meeting. On the other hand, the broadcaster wanted the IPL 2020 to be concluded in Diwali week. In case the final is played on November 10 which comes in the same time, the broadcaster will be pleased with the decision too. This will eventually help the Indian national cricket team traveling to South Africa as the cricketers can avoid a flight to home and can directly go to Australia.
This means that the Indian cricketers would not be home for the rest of the year after starting their respective training camps in Dubai for IPL 2020 with their IPL team members.
Players not allowed to depart before final
The BCCI also is not keen to send the players back to India who will be free from their IPL responsibilities. No matter how limited number of cricketers to get occupied for the finale ultimately, it is must for all IPL players to stay in the Middle East till the last match. Times of India quoted a source saying, “Even if the players are left without any IPL matches, they will continue to remain in UAE and participate in a camp there.” The source also added, “As soon as the IPL is over, the remaining players busy playing the final knockout matches of the league will join the rest and the entire team will fly together from there”.
