ICC World Cup 2019: I Want to Have a Cup in My Hand Says Hardik Pandya

Hardik Pandya is one of the key players for team India in this World Cup. His all-round ability has the potential to win the Cup for Virat Kohli this time. Recently, in a video posted by ICC Hardik Pandya talked about his aspirations and expectations from the tournament.

When the easy-going 25-year old was asked about his countrymen and their huge expectations he said, there is on such pressures on him as “maybe only 1.5 billion people are expecting” India to lift the Cup. He shared how much he is keen to have that Cup in his hand on 14th July. His aim seems to be pretty clear and this young stud wants to win the World Cup at any cost. “On 14th July I want to have a Cup in my hand, that is the only thing. Even when I think of it it gives me goosebumps. My plan is simple — win the World Cup. I am hoping that and I expect that from myself,” he said.

Pandya talked about his journey how everything looks like a bonus to him after such struggle. He calls himself a happy soul and according to him the Pandya brothers know to be happy about everything in life. He recalled about the 2011 World Cup win and mentioned how they celebrated the win. The rooted young star of team India has not forgotten his old days yet. “He (his friend) clicked the picture of us celebrating after Indian winning the World Cup in 2011. And we were on the street because it was a festival. I have never seen so many people out in one night. It actually made me emotional.

When he is a prime all-rounder India will look up to for continuous good performance, Kapil Dev already mentioned that Pandya needs to perform with the ball as well. He went wicketless in last two matches although was effective with the bat, especially against Australia. Now, eight years down the line Hardik Pandya is determined to give his best on the field. He wants to live the moment on his own that’s his sole purpose now.
