“Heartbroken! Words can’t express the disappointment and hurt.” Mohammed Siraj’s Emotional Post After the Defeat against Australia in the World Cup

Four days passed, but the Indian fans have still not recovered from the heartbreaking loss against Australia in the World Cup final. After having an electrifying tournament, Team India couldn’t achieve the last goal. They were the only unbeaten team qualified for the World Cup final. They won all 10 matches of the group stage and the semifinal stage. But on the final day, they had hard luck. Australia became the sixth-time winner of the World Cup. After a few days of that defeat, Mohammed Siraj made an emotional post on social media.

India on the Final Match:

After having an exciting tournament, India qualified for the World Cup final. After 2011, India organized the tournament on home soil. The expectations were high. Team India was performing exceptionally well. They were conquering the tournament. But on the final day, they couldn’t make it. They batted first after losing the toss. Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, and Virat Kohli tried their best to push India to a fighting total. But the other players had a hard they on the field.

The struggle remained till the end. While bowling, Indian bowlers struggled. The Australian batters were exceptionally well. Jasprit Bumrah took 2 wickets, Mohammed Siraj and Mohammad Shami took 1 wicket each. Other bowlers had a bad day. They were giving runs and the fielders were also not at their best. As a result of that, Australia won the match by 6 wickets. With that win, they won their sixth World Cup title.

Mohammed Siraj on the Defeat:

Even after giving 200% through the whole tournament, India finished as runners-up. All the players were heartbroken after that devastating defeat. All the players set an example of excellence. But the last match was not their day. After the loss, all the players were emotional. Mohammed Siraj was seen in tears. After four days, he posted his feelings and thanked everyone for their support throughout the tournament. On his social media handle, he wrote, “ Our campaign did not end like we wanted it too but representing India is the biggest honor and moment of pride for me. All I have ever wanted to do is represent my country.”

Then he added, “ Heartbroken! Words can’t express the disappointment and hurt. It’s been a tough loss to take. This time might not have been god’s will but we aim to work harder each day to chase glory for our country.”

He also thanked all the support staff and the fans. He said, “ A big credit to our support staff, the unsung heroes who work so hard behind the scenes to provide us the care we need and help us prepare for games. Your contribution is immense to this team.”

While thanking fans, he said, “ Thank you to all our fans for your support. Seeing a sea of blue in the crowd is a feeling that can’t be matched. Grateful! The energy you provided was amazing, backing us all the way. Jai Hind!”
