Gujarat Titans Willing To Trade Out Hardik Pandya To Mumbai Indians With Rohit Sharma Or Jofra Archer In Return: Reports

The IPL 2024 season is not many months ahead with the auctions being held in Dubai, later this year. Team India’s all-rounder Hardik Pandya was released from Mumbai Indians in 2021 with Gujarat Titans, one of the few added franchises in the year 2022 roping Hardik Pandya as their captain. After several speculations, chances are most likely that Hardik Pandya could be seen playing for Mumbai Indians again in the IPL season 2025.

Hardik had led the team successfully in the IPL season 2022, an IPL win the debut year itself. He also managed to lead his team till the qualifiers round in the 2023 season. Owing to his rapid progress as a leader, Mumbai Indians are willing to take back Hardik Pandya to lead the team in the year 2025. But also, five-time IPL winners are also not willing to remove Rohit Sharma from the board as the captain.

Swapping Rohit or Archer for Pandya

In order to accept Mumbai Indians‘ quest for Hardik Pandya, the Gujarat Titan have possibly expressed their desire to trade Rohit Sharma or Jofra Archer in return. While Rohit’s chances of making it to the Titans seems almost impossible, Jofra Archer can be seen in the Titans if the deal remains on. Ahead of Gautam Gambhir’s appointment as the new mentor for Kolkata Knight Riders, Hardik Pandya’s entry back into Mumbai Indians can be seen as another homecoming.

Who will take over the captaincy if Hardik leaves?

Well, there stands no reason to break the partnership with Hardik Pandya, owing to the fact that he has led the team brilliantly in the first two seasons with a victory in the debut season. But even if Hardik Pandya leaves Gujarat Titans, New Zealand’s Kane Williamson or Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan will be likely to lead the team from the front.
