After successfully completing another season of WPL, Delhi Capitals, and Royal Challengers Bangalore met on the big stage of the final match at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. The Delhi crowd got craze for the final showdown and the girls treated them well with their performance.
In the beginning, DC won the toss and decided to bat first. They gave the desired start for the final match. But Shafali Verma and Meg Lanning started the innings perfectly. Shafali Verma walked away after scoring 44 runs in 27 balls. Lanning walked away after scoring 23 runs. After that, DC’s batting collapsed. They got all out in 113 runs.
While chasing the target, RCB started gracefully. Smriti Mandhana scored 31 runs in 39 balls. Sophie Devine scored 32 runs in 27 balls. But Ellyse Perry rocked again. The all-rounder played her role perfectly in the final match by remaining unbeaten on 35 runs. RCB won the final match by 8 wickets with 3 balls left.
The Orange Cap was another goal apart from the trophy. But finally, the deserving player got the award. In the whole season, Ellyse Perry’s performance was the highlight. She ended the season with 347 runs in just 9 matches with an average of 69.4. Her highest score of the season was 66 runs.
