Women’s Premier League 2024 Orange Cap: Updated After Gujarat Giants vs UP Warriorz Match No. 8

After seven successful encounters in WPL 2024, fans witnessed another thriller. On March 1,

ocked horns with UP Warriorz at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore. After some brilliant batting performances by the batters shattered the orange cap list. 

After winning the toss, UP Warriorz won the toss and decided to bowl first. In the first innings, Laura Wolvaardt and Beth Mooney gave a good start. Laura scored 28 runs and Mooney walked away after scoring 16 runs. Phoebe Litchfield scored 35 runs in 26 balls along with 4 boundaries and 1 over-boundaries. Ashleigh Gardner scored 30 runs in 17 balls. In 20 overs, Gujarat scored 142/5.

While batting in the second innings. Kiran Navgire walked away after scoring 12 runs in 8 balls. Alyssa Healy scored 33 runs in 21 balls with 7 boundaries. After that, Chamari Athapattu and Shweta Sehrawat were dismissed early. 

When wickets were getting down quickly, Grace Harris came to rescue the team. In a crucial moment, she played an unbeaten knock of 60 runs in 33 balls. She smashed 9 boundaries and 2 over-boundaries. She batted with a strike rate of 181.82. Deepti Sharma gave the perfect company. She was unbeaten on 17 runs in 14 balls. UP Warriorz won the match by 6 wickets.
