West Indies A Cricketers Surprised by Nepal Arrival: Cold Reception at Kathmandu Airport

When the world is busy with exciting T20 fixtures, the West Indies A team is all set to lock horns in a five-match T20 series. The West Indies team already traveled to Nepal. But the welcoming gesture of the Nepal Cricket Board caught the attention. The cold behavior of the management has come out through a video where the Carribien players are seen loading their luggage on a truck. The Video has gone viral on the social platforms.

Nepal Cricket Association’s Arrangement for the Carribien Player:

The West Indies ‘A’ team received an unexpected welcome upon their arrival in Nepal. Due to the absence of several key players participating in the IPL, the Caribbean squad landed at Kathmandu airport to find Nepal had arranged a truck for their luggage and a basic tourist bus without air conditioning for transportation. This unconventional reception left the West Indies players surprised.

In a viral video circulating on social media, players were seen loading their belongings onto a pickup truck outside the airport. Some appeared puzzled by the treatment, while others wore smirks. The sight of the ordinary bus further added to their astonishment, as it lacked the amenities one would expect for international athletes.

Despite the modest arrangements, the West Indies players departed from the airport with a security van accompanying them. However, these arrangements have raised questions about the Nepal Cricket Board’s readiness to host international teams, particularly regarding logistical support.

Nepal vs West Indies A T20 Series:

West Indies is set to compete in a 5-match T20 series in Nepal beginning April 27. The team, although missing several players due to their participation in the IPL, includes some regulars. Notably, West Indies A is affected by the absence of certain players involved in the IPL. All matches of the T20 series will be held at the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur.
