Virat Kohli, following Royal Challengers Bengaluru‘s early exit from IPL 2024, is extending his break and will likely miss India’s T20 World Cup warm-up game against Bangladesh on June 1. The first batch of Indian players, including captain Rohit Sharma, head coach Rahul Dravid, and others, departed for New York, but Kohli, the Orange Cap holder with 741 runs in 15 matches, was absent.

A BCCI official mentioned, “Kohli had informed us way beforehand that he will be joining the team late and that is why the BCCI has kept his visa appointment for a later date. He is expected to fly out to New York in the early morning of May 30th. The BCCI has agreed to his request.”

Other Players

Players like Mohammed Siraj, Suryakumar Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, and others traveled with the first batch. Sanju Samson and Hardik Pandya are also set to leave later due to personal commitments.
