TATA IPL 2023: Big blow for Delhi Capitals, star pacer leaves the team’s camp ahead of the crucial encounter against Royal Challengers Bangalore

In a sudden turn of events, Delhi Capitals fast bowler Anrich Nortje has had to leave for South Africa due to a personal emergency. As a result, he will not be available for the much-awaited IPL 2023 match against Royal Challengers Bangalore this evening. This news has come as a major setback for the team, as Nortje is one of their key players.

Delhi Capitals confirm Nortje’s exclusion

The Delhi Capitals had high hopes from Nortje, who has been in decent form this season. In 8 games, the South African pacer had taken 7 wickets at an economy rate of 8.91. His pace and accuracy have troubled many batsmen, and his absence is expected to be felt in the game against the Royal Challengers Bangalore.

In an official statement posted on their social media handles, Delhi Capitals confirmed Nortje’s unavailability in the match against the Royal Challengers Bangalore. “Owing to a personal emergency, Delhi Capitals fast bowler Anrich Nortje had to leave for South Africa late on Friday night. He will be unavailable for this evening’s game against Royal Challengers Bangalore.”, the franchise posted on its Twitter account.

Hope to be back soon

This is not the first time that IPL 2023 has been impacted by such events. Earlier, Litton Das and Shakib al Hasan of the Kolkata Knight Riders left the league because of some personal reasons. Pat Cummins withdrew his name from the league because he needed some personal time off. This makes the situation worse for the Delhi Capitals who are already struggling in the batting department. Delhi Capitals are currently sitting at the bottom of the Points Table. They have just 3 wins in 9 games.

Fans of the Delhi Capitals will be hoping for a speedy resolution to Nortje’s personal emergency and a quick return to the team’s lineup. Meanwhile, the Royal Challengers Bangalore will be looking to capitalize on the absence of the fast bowler and secure a crucial victory in their quest for the IPL 2023 title.
