Surat Police Questions SRH’s Abhishek Sharma in Tanya Singh’s Suicide Case

Indian Premier League (IPL) cricketer Abhishek Sharma was questioned by police in Surat city, Gujarat, for about four hours regarding the suspected suicide of model Tanya Singh, as per an official statement on Wednesday.

The focus of the investigation has now turned towards Abhishek Sharma, a rising talent associated with the Sunrisers Hyderabad, as it came to light that he had been in contact with Tanya Singh before her tragic demise. Reports indicate that Tanya had exchanged messages with Abhishek before taking her own life, prompting a deeper scrutiny into the nature of their relationship and any potential role Sharma might have played in the events leading up to the model’s death.

The Surat police are diligently examining all available evidence, including call records and statements from those close to Tanya, to piece together a timeline of her final hours. Police’s View:

Authorities are currently examining Call Detail Records and IP Detail Records from Tanya Singh’s phone as part of the ongoing investigation. Initial findings suggest that the model had sent a WhatsApp message to Sharma, but he did not respond. Commissioner of Police VR Malhotra talked about this. He said, “We have so far learned this much that Abhishek Sharma was friends with the deceased model. More details will be known in the investigation.”

Abhishek Sharma, an all-rounder, is part of the Sunrisers Hyderabad squad in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Initially joining the IPL with Delhi Capitals, he was acquired for Rs 55 lakh. After a stint with Delhi, he moved to Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2019 and was subsequently bought back by them in the 2022 mega auction for Rs 6.5 crore. Abhishek has also been a part of the Under-19 World Cup-winning team, showcasing his talent and potential in the cricketing world.
