Super Smash 2023 Scoreboard Update: Guptill and Neesham Shine as Top Run-Getters and Wicket-Takers in Auckland vs Canterbury Clash

The T20 cricket is showing its brilliance all over the World. Almost every cricket-playing nation is arranging T20 tournaments. Players across the globe are taking part in it. New Zealand also started its T20 league named Super Smash. In the last match, Auckland and Canterbury met. Martin Guptill and James Neesham are ruling the most runs and the most wicket-takers list.

On December 19, Auckland and Canterbury met in the inaugural match of the Super Smash tournament at the Eden Park Outer Oval in Auckland. After winning the toss, Canterbury opted to bowl first. Auckland gave a decent start. Their opening partnership recorded 39 runs. Martin Guptill got dismissed in 47 runs in 29 runs. He smashed 5 boundaries and 2 over-boundaries. Skipper Robert O’Donnell played well. He remained unbeaten in 54 runs in 38 balls. After 20 overs, they set a target of 186 runs. 

The Auckland bowlers played exceptionally well. The opponent lost wickets frequently. Danru Ferns got the first breakthrough for the team. Leo Carter walked away after scoring 22 runs. Mitchell Hay was dismissed on 43 runs in 25 balls. Bevon Jacobs scored 42 runs and got dismissed. James Nesham was excellent. He got three wickets in just 26 runs. Danru Ferns took 3 wickets in 30 runs. Ben Listers picked up 2 wickets in 18 runs. Nikith Perera and Louis Delport are taking 1 wicket each. Auckland won the match by 28 runs.

After winning the inaugural fixture, Auckland is ruling the most runs list. Robert O’Donnell is currently at the top with 54 runs with a strike rate of 142.1. Another Auckland player is in the second position. Martin Guptill standing there with 47 runs and his strike rate is 162.06. Fourth and fifth place is taken by BJ Jacobs and FH Allen with 42 runs and 26 runs. CD Fletcher is in the 6th position with 24 runs.

Most Wickets:

James Neesham is ruling the most wicket-taker’s list. He took 3 wickets in 26 runs. His average is 8.66. DK Ferns is standing in the second position. In the first match, he also took 3 wickets in 30 runs with an average of 10. Ben Lister took 2 wickets in 18 runs. He is standing in the third position. On the fourth position, Michael Ripponis on the fourth position with an average of 13.5. The fifth position is taken by Cole McConchie with one wicket in 1 match.
