South African batter Quinton de Kock gets emotional in his final home appearance

 It is an emotional day for de Kock and the world cricket. This South African wicketkeeper batter is playing his Final home ODI series against Australia. This batter is saying bye to his ODI career after the 2023 Cricket World Cup. they are playing their last home series against Australia right before the World Cup.

Quinton’s retirement:

Before the final game against Australia de Kock was talking about his retirement decision. He said despite being 31 years old, his body acts like 40 years 40-year-old man. He has talked with his family, friends, and close people. He said,” It was just that feeling I was getting. At the end of my test career, I was fighting to play. 50 tests was a lot and could take a toll on you. I gave it a thought and chatted with people I trust. They said there’s no shame in retiring and focusing on other formats.”

De Kocks ODI career:

Quinton de Kock made his ODI debut on 19th January 2013 against New Zealand. Till now he has played 144 matches and made 6149 runs. In this span of his career, he made 17 centuries and 30 half centuries. By his 20th ODI match, he scored five centuries. He became the fourth player to score three successive ODI centuries.

In November 2013, de Kock scored 112 of 135 balls on a tough pitch in Abu Dhabi in the fourth ODI of his career to score his maiden ODI century. In December 2013, he scored an outstanding innings of 135 runs against India. In the ODI against Bangladesh, Hashim Amla set the highest record ODI run for SA with an unbeaten partnership of 282 runs.

This South African batter recollects some beautiful memories throughout his ODI career. While interacting with media he started with his best tour of Abu Dhabi. He also spoke about the tests he played in India and mentioned the Sri Lanka tour.
