South Africa to Release Players for IPL 2021 Ahead Of T20I Series Against Pakistan

South Africa Cricket board decided to give rest to the IPL bound players for the upcoming T20I series against Pakistan next month. They will be released after the 50-over fixtures which means the T20 side will lack of experience of some renowned seniors.

No IPL Players for T20I Series

South Africa chose their ODI and T20I squads for the Pakistan series. What is interesting in their T20I squad is the absence of a bunch of players. The concerned cricket board decided to release IPL-bound players after the 50-over three-match series. The matches will be played between April 2-7. Both teams will be facing each other for a four-match T20I series after that. Cricket South Africa confirmed that players with Indian Premier League contract will be released for the competition starting on April 9.

Aiden Markram and all-rounder Wiaan Mulder made it to South Africa’s One-Day International squad for the first time in two years. 0n the other hand, uncapped seamer Lizaad Williams and all-rounder Sisanda Magala were also named in the extended 22-man squad. Temba Bavuma will be leading the team for the first time.
